Who are FACEBOOK AUTHORS?

Facebook Authors is a group of authors working together to reach out to more readers on Facebook as well as off Facebook.

We are part of a group of several other book sites, giving participating authors not only additional exposure on Facebook, but within those other sites.

We will also be participating in group ads on Facebook to reach even more readers, as well as sponsoring contests that will help bring more readers to your individual Facebook page.

By working together, we can all benefit more, with less cost and less time.

Why is there a cost?

Because advertising, contest prizes, web storage, creation and updating all cost money. We haven't found a single author willing to pay these costs so the rest of us get our promotion free*, so we decided it would just be easier if we all chipped in, based on whether we wanted to just generate more traffic to our Facebook pages and personal web sites, or wanted the traffic as well as some high impact promotions for our books. Our contribution is based on the amount of exposure and promotion we get.

However, we have worked to keep the prices as low as possible for the amount of cost for the promotions and time involved. Memberships average out to around just $4.50 per month for the Silver, $14.25 per month for the Gold and $24.95 per month for the Platinum - something to fit every budget and promotional need.

(* Please note: if you are an extremely wealthy author who would like to sponsor the rest of us, the position is open <of course, we're just kidding>)

Limited memberships available:

We are limiting the Gold/Platinum Authors to 24 per year (not each, but total). This means that there will be a limited number of authors in each genre/subgenre, giving each author more exposure to readers. This way, all authors will achieve greater visibility and that translates into more opportunities for readers to buy our books.

CONTESTS:

Monthly Contests: Each month, 5 lucky readers will win a $10.00 Amazon.com gift certificate. Winners are drawn randomly from readers who are fans of MUCH ADO ABOUT READING and at least 1 of our participating authors (readers receive 1 entry for being a fan of MUCH ADO ABOUT READING + any 1 participating author, and 1 ad'l entry per ad'l participating author whose page they are a fan of. The more authors' Facebook pages they are on, the more chances they have to win. This means YOU will have more readers becoming YOUR fans, and that means more readers receiving information about your book!).

Special Contests: Periodically we'll be running special contests that highlight the Facebook pages of our Silver, Gold and Platinum members. Prizes will range from gift certificates, to books, to other prizes.

Author Contests: We'll promote up to 2 contests per year from our Silver authors and up to 6 contests per year from our Gold and Platinum Authors. Contests will be promoted on FACEBOOKAUTHORS.COM and MUCH ADO ABOUT READING's Facebook page, as well as other book sites.

Featured Authors Contests (Platinum Authors): There are a maximum of 24 Featured Authors spots available per year. Each Featured Author will receive a special showcase on MUCH ADO ABOUT READING's Facebook page and the FACEBOOK AUTHORS web site 1 month out of the year, and during their showcase month we will buy $100.00 (retail value) of their books to give away to readers (entry rules are the same as for the regular monthly contest, so readers don't have to do anything special to win, except be fans of your pages for more chances!).

ADVERTISING:

We'll be placing paid ads on Facebook (little ads that show up on users' Facebook page that allows them to join the group site with just a click). This will help us reach more readers who aren't already acquainted with our books and authors. And the more authors who participate, the more ads we can place! All authors, regardless of membership level, benefit from this advertising.
